My older pair were made in the USA.This new leather boot is much stiffer and unforgiving for the foot because of the man made vinyl and padded cloth materials on the inside of the boot, and I don't see how you can "break" them in, as you would do if the interior of the boot was leather. I don't care much for the soft "rubber" trim at the top of the boot either. This is a wear point for many of my work boots, and this part will split, wear out and fall apart quickly. The reinforced leather trim on my "made in USA pair" split after many years of heavy use, but never wore out. I would have the old boots repaired by Chippewa, but at a cost of $90.00, plus the cost of shipping both ways, it really isn't worth it. These new Chippewa boots are also not true as to size.
