The Refurbished Breville Milk Cafe uses induction heating and spinning to make those small bubbles. Simply choose the appropriate frothing disc latte for a creamy result, the cappuccino disc for more froth fill with enough milk for one, or up to three cups, select your temperature, and start. The Refurbished Breville Milk Cafe will froth and turn itself off when the desired temperature is achieved. This product carries a 90-day limited warranty.

We already own a Nespresso Aeroccino Plus with which we are very happy but its drawback is that one can really only make small batches. Whenever we have larger gatherings of more than 4 people at our house, the Capuccino and Latte Macchiato making becomes a very time-consuming, drawn-out affair, so the Breville Milk Frother looked good for serving bigger groups faster. Here are our comments with comparisons to the Aeroccino where appropriate but in no particular order:PROs: - Large capacity. The jug can hold up to 25 fl. oz, even though it is recommended to not exceed 16 fl. oz when making froth. Still a lot more than what the Aeroccino holds. - Great, hot froth. So seeing as I have nothing negative to say about this, let me tell you about some of my favorite features on it.Lets start on the top and work our way down shall we? There are two parts to the lid, the main part, and a part that comes out that is a measuring cup for precise measuring. Next is the size of the frothing pot, compared to most (my other frother is the Capresso frothPro, 12 ounces) it is fairly large (16-25 ounces), and it heats up and froths quicker than most other frothers I've used. At first, a milk frother seemed like an unnecesary luxury that might just take up space on the counter and not get that much use. To my very pleasant surprise, that has not been the case. My espresso machine is a typical home size which means a fairly small boiler. Before the milk frother, I could pull enough espresso shots for guests but did not have enough steam to make several cappucinos in one go. It is also the fastest and simplest way to make great hot chocolate without getting a pan dirty. I'm looking forward to finding out how well it does mulled wine which we really enjoy in the winter but rarely make since it involves a long time and a few bottles of wine in the crock pot. I'm thinking the Breville is going to let us make it a couple of mugs-worth at a time. This will probably become my go to wedding gift for my coffee-loving friends. |
